Swirbul Library

Swirbul Library, built in 1963, is named after Leon A. Swirbul, president and one of six founders of Grumman Aircraft Engineering Company, as well as an Adelphi Board of Trustees member from 1958–1960. The University's primary research holdings are at Swirbul Library and include 600,000 volumes, 806,000 items in microformats, 33,000 audiovisual items, and online access to more than 61,000 electronic journal titles and 221 research databases. Swirbul, designed by the noted Modernist architect, Richard J. Neutra, also provides education, information sources, services and facilities that advance teaching, learning and creative activity.
